I remember when I was a kid, I probably rented this movie so many times that I could have bought several copies. For some reason, that conception never occurred to me. But I never regretted shelling out $1.50 to be able to have that movie in my possession for a whole day.
Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg and Ted Danson return in their roles as three bachelors raising a five-year frail girl along with her mother, played by Nancy Travis. This time around, we perceive slight Mary struggling with the fact that her family is different from those of her peers, and then her mother, Sylvia, announcing her engagement to an Englishman who is going to recede the three of them to England. Then Peter (Tom Selleck’s character) realizes that he is in worship with Sylvia so he rushes to England to halt the wedding.
This movie definitely has a different feel than the first movie. The latter was more of a comedy of three confirmed bachelors struggling to select care of a six-month archaic baby. “Miniature Lady” is more of a sentimental, romantic movie. For whatever reason, I found the second movie to be more delectable. This is a huge movie to examine when you are in the mood for a light movie that is an oldie but a goody.
Great sequel but I’m disappointed that it’s in pan & scan. What really baffles me is that “Three Men and a Baby” is released in widescreen.

One of the funniest films ever made that quiet manages to bear up an tantalizing location. A total winner.
It features some of the most genuinely plain and funny tough guys in the history of cinema, and a appealing tedious burn by Deniro, a shortchanged ex-cop, who fair wants a unruffled slight coffee shop as payment for his decency and integrity. The funny chemistry between Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin is top-drawer. Surrounded on all side by ethical infants, these two characters at least know the contrast between virtue and vice, and are ironically the just backbone of the film.
Comedies that don’t wallow in their humor are twice as noteworthy fun, and Midnight Rush maintains a swift slip throughout. Situation-wise, it’s a dynamo of action. I found the denouement to be quite though-provoking as well, at the very least it provokes opinion.

If you’re looking for a comedy with depth, bite, wit and excitement, then pick up Midnight Race. The DVD’s spiffy special features quite simply reinforce my recommendation of purchasing this one, not unprejudiced renting.
This film pairs Robert DeNiro and Charles Grodin in a Buddy/ Road film/ Action anecdote combination that results in one of the best pairnings ever in this type of movie. Both actors are in top effect and play off of each other beautifully. The supporting cast is also grand particularly Dennis Farina who delivers a satisfactory performance as a sleazy mob boss who has an endless supply of creative threats to exercise to motivate his subordinates. Yaphett Koto is also very agreeable as frustrated FBI Inspector Alonzo Mosley. It is the combination of DeNiro and Grodin that really drives the flim and provides both it’s best comedy and it’s more dramatic moments. One of the best movies of this type I’ve ever seen. Highly recommended. There are so many memorable lines that the movie holds up to repeated viewings.

With a terrific international cast and estimable effects, this fast-paced thriller about spies infiltrating a German rocket installation is sharp, and though powerful of the antics are astounding, especially in the final sequence, it does have a historical context to it. There was an Operation Crossbow, when Winston Churchill (well played by Patrick Wyman) was concerned about what misslies and rockets the Nazis were making.
The V-1 “Buzz Bomb” was a nightmare for those living in London in the summer of ‘44, and perhaps the most absorbing fraction of the film is its depiction of London being hit with these dreaded missiles, with some unbelievable cinematography by Erwin Hillier.
George Peppard is a tranquil peep, and does many scenes speaking German, though he looks 100% American, perhaps because of the hat he wears pushed wait on on his head, which would have been a givaway had he really been in enemy territory.

Richard Johnson is fantastic as Duncan Sandys, who believes action is imperative and that “in war, decisions almost always have to be made on incomplete knowledge; if you wait until you’re determined, you’re certain to be too unhurried”, and goes against Trevor Howard as Professor Linderman, who is not convinced that the residence is serious, or even exists.
(Duncan Sandys was Churchill’s son-in-law, and not a very favorite fellow with the RAF, because he view the future of air warfare was in missiles and rockets, and not in manned flight) .

Other good actors are Sophia Loren looking shapely, Tom Courtenay, John Mills, Jeremy Kemp, Anthony Quayle, Richard Todd, and Lilli Palmer beneficial as a resistance worker in Holland.
The film has a obvious stylish slickness that it probably owes to the popularity of the James Bond films in the early ’60s, and in the Bond tradition has many fine ladies in all levels of the work force (even as a German engineer/test pilot) and lots and lots of action. A film that almost makes it to 5 stars but unprejudiced misses the impress, it serene makes blooming viewing, with some history (though a limited jumbled) thrown in for great measure.

This curious war drama places stars George Peppard and John Mills as trained sabatuers in an underground factory where V-1 and V-2 “Buzz-bomb” rockets were being manufactured in Germany during world war II. This titillating drama is as suspensefull as it is realistic. Their mission is to kill Hitler’s ability to manfacture those awful incendiary rockets which were terrorizing London during the latter stages of the war. Sophia Loren, thinking her husband already monotonous, discovers George Peppard impersonating him, and the action accelerates from there. This movie has it all, romance, gigantic suspense and special effects as well as a thrilling climax. Several scenes are in German with English subtitles, and as a high school German teacher, I found this a sterling addition to the film. This movie has feeble well since its release in 1965. Give it a try.

Our 3yr frail boy loves Thomas. We have all the videos and trains, etc. He wants to observe this thing every day. He repeats lines from the movie and acts them out all day. It was large for him. We took him to the movies to survey it together. He loved that, too. For him, we would do it all again in a diminutive.
As parents, we could have done without the “mean-ness” of Diesel #10 and the fact that he wants to “dominate and end”. He also uses the word “lifeless” several times. Not nice.
As adult movie critics, we saw laughably awful acting (with the exception of “Mr. Conductor” and “Junior”. (Spy that even some of the 5-star reviewers agree.) Britt Alcroft directed and wrote it, and it is clear that she should have asked for succor from someone who knew what they were doing. If you pay attention, demand to be confused. We expected more because we actually luxuriate in watching all of the other videos, and they are really well done.
This movie was by far the worst Thomas production ever made. I was shocked when I discovered that Britt Allcroft wrote it; now we know why she always had a co-writer when she was writing episodes for the TV series, and why she was kicked out of Gullane Entertainment afterwards.

The script is so poorly written that I feel sorry for the trees feeble to originate the paper that it was written on. The Island of Sodor, in the TV series an island off the flit of England that was more or less normal, has been turned into a magical ghost town populated by talking trains and literate animals. Why Britt Allcroft chose to accomplish such a speedily departure from the TV series I will never know. She also filled the script with complicated location devices that few children will be able to understand (you’d need to be Einstein or Stephen Hawking to figure out the respond to the riddle on the windmill wall), and threw her healthy knowledge of the Thomas characters out of the window (Thomas is portrayed as a goody-goody, Bertie as being annoyingly hyperactive, Henry as being a whiny afflict in the neck, and James as being so short of brain cells that he doesn’t know what the word “shoo” means) .
Usually, poor scripts bring in dreadful acting, and this movie was no exception. Alec Baldwin’s character was so annoying (I’m distinct I’m not the only person who wishes Diesel 10 had dropped him off the viaduct), and took the limelight that should have been given to Thomas and the other engines. Peter Fonda’s character was the most melancholy, depressing character in the history of children’s movies. Mara Wilson’s character was better, but quiet seemed like a teenage girl younger than her years. And what was the point of having huge name actors anyway? It’s not as if limited children are going to recognise them.

I also rep the film to be overly violent. Diesel 10 is so tainted that it’s no wonder puny children started crying and asking to leave the theater when he made his first appearance. We’re never told why he’s unfriendly either, he impartial comes off as a character who wants to end steam engines for no reason whatsoever. In the fresh series, if a character was scandalous it was usually for a righteous reason. In a similar fashion, while characters in the TV series might be improper, they never went further than playing tricks on the other engines and trying to accept them sent away. Here, Diesel 10 tries to extinguish Mr Conductor and Junior in scenes that build me amazed the film got a G rating.
Then there’s the fact that the steam engines obtain what can only be described as outstanding cameos. When I went to study this at the theater, I noticed a lot of small children fidgeting and looking bored during the scenes with the human characters. Really I’m not at all surprised that they were; they came to the theater to look their common blue engine and his friends, not a Lilliputian railroad conductor who had lost his gold dust.
Last but not least, what can petite children learn from this movie? The TV series episodes all have morals in them, like “don’t relate lies” and “don’t gather too elephantine of yourself.” Other than a brief line at the extinguish about helping each other, this movie has no true value in it whatsoever (unless you count teaching children to be senselessly violent a correct) .
In September of this year a second Thomas movie is coming out, albeit shorter than this one and being released deliver to video, called “Calling All Engines.” Spoiled your fingers and hope it’s better than this turkey.

First this is an objective to goodness review of the boxed spot. There’s no speculation here as to what’s in the state. The first two seasons of “Sliders” found the series looking for its “slider legs” so to instruct. By the second short season the series had found its niche and a solid direction for the series. Both seasons had their dazzling fraction of strong episodes. The third season was the first bulky one with 25 episodes produced. While there were about as many quality episodes here as seasons 1 & 2, we rep a number of the series best episodes here including one where Dr. Arturo leaves the group permanently in a engrossing episode. Regardless, season three had a number of strong episodes (“Rules of the Game”, “Number 1 Fan”, “The Exodus” Parts 1 & 2 and “The Guardian” are a few highlights) . I’m not going to go over the plots of the episodes (there’s too many to do justice to the series) but you can acquire synposis of each at the tv.com website.

Image and sound quality are exceptionally honorable. The series looks stout with shining, fearless colors and features nice utilize of the Dolby Digital Surround format (evidently Universal must be thinking of the other “Sliders” produced on an alternate Earth as they list the soundtrack as being in mono in a number of places) . Extras are light for season three with only a gag reel (provided by one of the fan sites) . There was more material that another fan location had and would have offered Universal for free if they had been contacted in time (at least according to Gord Lacey at tvondvd) . I’m hoping he’s factual as, perhaps, we could survey this material on the mixed fourth season boxed position.
We do accept as a bonus episodes of “Earth 2″ and “Cleopatra 2525″ (“The Man Who Fell to Earth”, no it isn’t related to Nichoas Roeg’s movie, and “Quest for Fire Power” respectively) which is designed to glean “Sliders” fans to capture those series as well. While “Earth 2″ had its moments, “Cleopatra 2525″ never appealed to me all that grand.

The packaging has improved with a digipak plastic container holding the discs. They no longer appear to “fly” in their container like the first season region (the beget of which many fans disliked) but the digipak plastic container has its fill challenges. Personally, I’m going to be putting mine into four slim line cases as these discs are dual sided and, as I experienced with “The Outer Limits”, suffer hurt so considerable easier than single sided dual layered discs.
Overall, season three had a profitable rush of vast episodes. While the quantity of episodes was up the quality didn’t increase with more episodes so there’s about the same ratio of fine to so-so episodes here. At least this site is more reasonably priced and that’s fine news.
Whoever designed the cases/discs for both of the Sliders sets so far needs to be fired. Both cases are a grand risk to the discs. In the first one, its heavenly easy to scratch them against one another. And this one is even worse!!! The double-sided discs wouldn’t have been a plight if they hadn’t arranged the case the intention they did. Having to catch the top disc out to secure to the bottom disc? Absolutely ridiculous!. And you practically have to believe the case begin with both hands objective to initiate it wide enough to earn the discs out without scratching them. Then, you’ve got no hands left to grab the disc(s)!!! If you opinion on buying this series, opinion on investing in a residence of cases too. There’s no device you should support them in the case they advance in.
